About the Program

The goal of this newly created program is to address an unmet community need by pairing young, caring, artists (minimum 21 years of age, who will receive a small stipend for their service) with 17-26 year old cancer patients who will benefit from friendship, pleasurable artistic experience, and escape from the physical and emotional pain of their illness and treatments through weekly home visits. Matches will be made between carefully screened and trained volunteers and patients who seek this kind of relationship based on a shared interest in art and compatible personalities; visits will be supervised.

The Foundation will provide programmatic infrastructure, in addition to art supplies and stipend monies, to ensure the success of these matches.
